Pineapple-Coconut-Lemon-Ginger-Turmeric-Coriander-Cardamom Juice
(A.K.A. “Pineapple Awesomeness”)
At ecobrands®, we’re all about healthy, sustainable living, and today, we’re sharing our very best antioxidant juice recipe. Packed with vitamins and minerals, naturally endowed with anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and anti-fungal properties, this is the best antioxidant juice recipe, as well as the best juice for cancer prevention (in my non-medical opinion). As a health nut, I am completely hooked on fresh juices and prepare three different pitchers of freshly squeezed juices each week – this one, which I call “Pineapple Awesomeness,” Orange-Grapefruit, which I call, "Hey Sickness, Kiss My A--", and Watermelon-Cucumber-Lime-Mint, which I call, "Commence Rehydration."
I cannot take full credit for this recipe because it was inspired many years ago by my favorite “Wellness Mocktail” at the Vegan destination restaurant Plant in Asheville, NC. I spend a couple months every year hiking and picking up trail trash in Western North Carolina (Waynesville-Sylva-Asheville-Canton-Brevard Areas), and when I’m not hiking, you can find me restoring my calories at one of the countless awesome restaurants or craft breweries in the area (yes, I drink kombucha and craft beer, too)! Even if you are not vegetarian or vegan, the food served at Plant will open your eyes to the fact that meat is simply not necessary, as you can easily achieve savoriness, richness, and protein, entirely from plants. Anyway, we always end our fantastic meals at Plant with one of their Wellness Mocktails, which is the inspiration for today’s recipe. Thank you, Plant, and keep up the excellent work!
Here are just some of the health benefits of our very best antioxidant juice recipe:
- First and foremost, using organic ingredients whenever possible reduces your exposure to potentially cancer-causing synthetic pesticides and fertilizers, and it helps ensure that future generations inherit a planet with healthier soils and waterways. With this in mind, please make the choice to live sustainably and buy organic whenever possible!
- Pineapples are full of vitamin C, antioxidants, and enzymes that protect your body against inflammation and disease. They improve gut health and immunity.
- Coconut water is fantastic for hydration. It is full of minerals like potassium and natural electrolytes that restore energy in your body. It also contains antioxidants, adding to the detoxifying properties of this juice recipe.
- Coconut milk contains beneficial fatty acids and has anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties.
- Ginger is an absolute powerhouse when it comes to good health. It helps prevent nausea and aids in healthy digestion. Most importantly, ginger is packed with antioxidants, which manage the destructive free radicals in your body. Finally, ginger is another anti-inflammatory, helping prevent disease and aiding in arthritis relief. I also find it very soothing in hot tea whenever I catch a cold.
- Turmeric, like ginger, is also a heavyweight champion antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, helping to neutralize free radicals, prevent premature ageing and disease, and relieve arthritis pain. I have read that it can also help with brain functions like memory, relieve depression and anxiety, and may even help prevent Alzheimer’s disease. Some doctors recommend it to help prevent heart disease, which is the leading cause of death in the world. And to top it all off, turmeric has been shown to prevent and treat some cancers, especially those of the digestive tract. Wow!
- Lemons are loaded with Vitamin C, which improves immunity and helps prevent heart disease and stroke. Lemons’ citric acid helps prevent kidney stones. They also aid in the absorption of iron, have anti-cancer properties, and improve gut health.
- Coriander is another powerful anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory that can help manage the free radicals that lead to cell damage and cancer. It is also a diuretic, meaning that it helps remove sodium from your system, thereby aiding in kidney health and the regulation of blood pressure. It has also been linked to the prevention and treatment of neurological diseases like Parkinson’s and Alzheimer’s. Coriander promotes gut health and urinary tract health.
- Cardamom is yet another powerful anti-oxidant and diuretic, helping to prevent cancers and high blood pressure, respectively. It is also an anti-inflammatory, helps relieve nausea, and is used to prevent and treat stomach ulcers. Its anti-bacterial properties can help prevent bad breath and cavities, infection, and can treat various forms of food poisoning. Finally, it has been proven to help lung health by relaxing your airway and aiding in the absorption of oxygen…. I am giving serious thought to chewing on cardamom pods all day!

I don’t know about you, but I find this stuff absolutely fascinating and utterly convincing. Would you rather put these juices into your body or fried chicken wings and coca cola?... Never forget that you are what you eat and drink! So without further adieu, here is my recipe for the ultimate anti-cancer and disease prevention juice. Cheers, to your health!
Yield: About 3 Qts or 8 Glasses with Ice
Prep Time: 45-60 Minutes (Includes Cleanup)
Tools Needed: Knife, Citrus Juicer, Centrifugal Juicer or Similar
Ingredients
- 2 Whole Organic Pineapples
- 32 Oz Harmless Harvest Organic Coconut Water
- 5 Oz Organic Light Coconut Milk
- ½ Cup Fresh Ginger/Turmeric Juice
- I buy ½ lb of fresh ginger and 6 oz of fresh turmeric root and juice them each week. Use the leftovers to flavor smoothies or sparkling water.
- 5 Organic Lemons, Juiced
- 2 tsp Ground Organic Coriander
- 2 tsp Ground Organic Cardamom
Instructions
- Put the ginger and turmeric roots into a large bowl. Rinse and dump the water three times to remove soil, and then fill the bowl up with warm water and allow the roots to sit in it while you prepare the other ingredients. I find that this helps warm the roots and soften the skin for easier juicing, not to mention, it cleans them.
- Juice the lemons using a standard citrus juicer.
- Add the lemon juice, coconut water, coconut milk, ground coriander, and ground cardamom to a large pitcher or container. Whisk to combine.
- Trim off the top, bottom, and hard exterior of the pineapples, and then cut them into a shape that will fit into your centrifugal juicer’s funnel. Set them aside.
- Cut the ginger and turmeric roots into smaller pieces and feed them into your centrifugal juicer. When you get to ½ cup of the mixture of the two juices, add it to the pitcher/container. Finish juicing the ginger and turmeric and save their mixed juices in a separate container. Enjoy it in smoothies and sparkling water for the rest of the week!
- Finally, juice the pineapples, add the juice to the pitcher, and give everything a good stir. Pour this delicious, healthy juice over ice, garnish with a slice of lemon or lime, and enjoy!
